Default Farming Faction

I was in a guild not too long ago and they had a thing where you had to donate 5k faction a week to the alliance (officers were 10k). I asked how that was even possible and was told that it was super easy to gain faction and that 10k shouldn't take any more than 1 hour to gather. Now, for what it's worth I did actually search for this topic and, as usual during the day, the search function wasn't working. I looked therough the first dozen or so pages and only found this topic.

http://guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3055344

It was helpful but not entirely so. That particular ranger spike build is good if you have a group full of them and if people are actually insane enough to charge your side of the map. I did however make out pretty good in RA when I ran a build similar to this. but it was nothing even close to 10k an hour, let alone 5k. I'm not in a guild and my PvE/PvP ratio is something like 95%/5% since I got the game over a year ago. I urrently have a character roster consisting of the following: A Mo/Me - which I love for the versitility, a Ra/Mo - I've always liked rangers from back in the D&D days, a Wa/Mo - always fun cracking a critters head open with an axe, a N/Me - got me a SS/MM build that kicks the crap outta most anything in PvE, an A/Rit - just so I could have a taste of the new characters, and a lonely Ele who carries all my excess stuff. I'm fair / good with all of them except the mule. But I'm prolly best with my Monk. So I guess what I'm asking for is tips on how to accumulate more faction in the timeliest manner possible. Thanx in advance.

Basicaly, Alliance Battles are nothing like other PvP.

There's 3 'organised' (almost always PUGs with no planning/organisation other than "we need a monk") teams on each side. There are two sides. The 3 teams on each side, are basicaly as random as you get in Random Arena...

Basicaly, my advice to you is play your monk. Go boonprot if you can or if not word healer. Then basicaly join any group that's "lf monk." Or you can go with people you know, but honestly that has only slightly better success than PUGs for this, since 2/3 of your side is people you didn't pick anyway.

You get 750 faction for a win, and however much score you had if you loose.

why are you specifically looking into AB's for faction farm?
i used to put 7-10k on average (when we were still putting in actually) and some days close to 16-17. depending on which side u were on, the repeatable quests are the best way to get it. however with all updates, I cant say for sure..

in the very beginning the dirtiest way was to get your ass to Amatz basin (kurzick side), pick 7 henchies, enter mission and go stand on the right side, and go do somehting in real life.. 10-12 mins used to yield 1.1-1.4k in the very beginning of the farming hype. then the luxon supplies and kurzick duel became popular..

those dirty ways have been nerfed, no doubt, however i still believe kurzick supply runs or scouting (awesome efficiency if more than 2-3 ppl, a full party is able to get 400 faction in literally 2 mins) and luxon scouting and possibly fighting in that arena there is a reliable way to gain faction

you will get bored soon enough tho i have earned 200k faction and tbh, i cant stand it anymore

I've had this game since it came out, but I rarely pay attention to anything that doesn't directly concern my character(s). Where can I go to get into alliance battles? Do I have to be in a guild that's in an alliance? How can I gain fame so I can get into the oober leet groups?

no idea, I used to go to guildhall and talk with the (for my side) kurzick ambassador guy in there, he says something like The horns of battle sound blabla and sends you to the spot of actual warfare ;P

u only can do party of 4 people, 3 such parties enter a mission, so you cant possibly know 8 of the people youll play with, and theres a good chance 3-4 of those will not do anything, potentially hindering your success

go try it on your own
